Trading Futures on SaxoTraderGO


  1.  Let's begin by creating a new Watchlist.
  2. Click on the drowpdown menu and select + New List
  3. Click on ADD INSTRUMENT and type in the search field the name of the commodity you are looking for. For example, type "Gold" into the field. Click on the instrument with the "blue FU" icon and click on done.
  4. Click on the blue FU button next to Gold and click TRADE​


  1.  The Trade Ticket window opens and since Futures are exchange traded it allows you to either trade at market prices or place an order at a specified price.
  2. Enter the lots you would like to trade. For example 1 lot, means that you are going trade 1 contract of Gold that has 100 troy ounces. Please note that for exchange traded products you need to subscribe to see live prices for the relevant exchange. Without subscription you will only see delayed prices.
  3. In order to trade on market price you need to change the ORDER TYPE to "Market Order". Click on Show more at the bottom of the trade ticket to see the relevant information about the Initial, the Maintenance Margin, the Expiry date and the Notice Date.
  4. Click on BUY if you expect that the price will go up, or on  SELL if you expect that the price will drop. A Confirmation window appears where you can check the details of your order. If everything is fine click CONFIRM to place a trade.
  5. A Trade Confirmation appears on the upper right side of your screen if the market order is executed. Click on OK to close the confirmation.​


  1. You can view the new position in the "Positions" section on the bottom of your screen. You can close your open positions or place related limit and stop loss orders directly from here.
  2. To place a related Limit order or Stop order click on the button and select your Stop and Limit; prices.
  3. You have 2 options to define your orders. You can either specify the Percentage or the Price Level.
  4. Click on the respective column, in our example price level. Once you have completed the set up click on the PLACE ORDER button.
  5. A window containing all relevant order information will appear. Review the displayed order information and click on "CONFIRM" to place the order(s).
  6. On the upper right corner of your screen the notification window will appear with the confirmation that your order(s) has been placed. Click on OK to close the notification window.
  7. To view your open orders click on "Orders" on the bottom section of your screen.
  8. This section offers you the ability to EDIT or CANCEL the place related orders.
  9. You can immediately close an Open Position by clicking on the Position section, and clicking on the price in the Close button. In case you are holding multiple positions in an instrument you should click on the "+" plus sign next to your position and then click on the CLOSE Price button in the respective row.
  10. A Close Position ticket will appear where you can either place your order on Market price, or you can change it to limit in order to get faster execution with the help of an aggressive limit order. Click the PLACE ORDER button to close your position.
  11. On the right upper corner of your screen the notification window will appear with the confirmation that your order(s) has been placed and here you will see also if it was executed. Click on OK to close the notification window.
  12. In order to see the Chart module, Click on the "Charts" next to the overview in the upper right section of your screen. Thanks to the module linking you should see the Gold Future chart. Furthermore, icons showing your open positions as well as related orders for this particular instrument will appear on the chart. If you cannot see these icons, click on the "Settings" icon on the right side of the chart module and tick the boxes "Show orders" and "Show positions".​
