Exclusive Seminar in Limassol – Presentation: Europe, Make or Break
Saxo Bank hosted an exclusive Macroeconomic Outlook Presentation with a focus on bonds markets. The presentation was delivered by Simon Fasdal, Head of Fixed Income at Saxo Bank, on 15 May at Le Meridien Limassol Spa and Resort.
The seminar was organized in cooperation with IMH, the leading business knowledge and information transfer organisation in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
Entitled Europe: Make or Break, the first presentation focused on the present scenario for Europe, and the challenges of European economies ahead, despite the optimism seen in the markets in 2013, especially in European equities and bonds.
The second section of the presentation discussed emerging market (EM) bonds. The turbulence of 2013 in emerging markets has effectively re-priced large parts of EM assets and reset many economies, now with weaker currencies and lower growth.
“We really focused on the topics to this seminar to get full attention and the right participants to come”, Simon says. “ By adding bonds and other products into the equation, we both had discussions on the economy, but also very relevant cross asset views and trading opportunities, that might inspire clients to try out our SaxoTrader, which was also presented for the audience.“
“In fact, many trading techniques and strategies which is normal for professional traders, is only attainable for private clients if they use a SaxoTrader. So by inspiring potential and existing clients with cross asset strategies, we point them towards the SaxoTrader.” Simon adds.
Simon Fasdal is heading the Fixed Income Trading at Saxo Bank. He has 17 years of trading experience heading several fixed income teams including Money market, Corporate bonds, Mortgage bonds and Government bond trading within Scandinavian investment banks.
